Playground Games has now lifted the bonnet on Forza Horizon 5’s upcoming Horizon 10-Year Anniversary update, which brings with it a new Horizon Story, Midnight Battles from Forza Horizon 3, new music, new cars, and much more.
We already know that the Horizon 10-Year Anniversary update adds eight achievements to Forza Horizon 5, but what about new content? Well, Playground Games is gearing up to serve a big dollop of nostalgia as the update includes loads of new (and old) features that fans of the series will love.
Forza Horizon 5: Horizon 10-Year Anniversary update revealed
The headliner here for big Forza Horizon nuts is probably the return of initial drives from previous Forza Horizon games. For the new Horizon Story, Playground says it’s recreated the initial drive from each previous entry in the Horizon series in Forza Horizon 5, so players can relive these experiences (or experience them for the first time) within the latest game. If you complete this story, you’ll unlock the 2013 Dodge SRT Viper GTS Anniversary Edition, which you may recognize as the cover car from the first game.
If you’re a Forza Horizon 3 fan, you may remember Midnight Battles. Playground Games is bringing back Midnight Battles for Forza Horizon 5. If you’re unfamiliar with the game mode, essentially, you compete against the CPU in head-to-head races, and if you win, you’ll be given the competitor’s car as a reward. There are four Midnight Battles in total, each dedicated to a different PI class, and they’re unlocked for every four wins you have in Street Scene, following the release of the update.
Also coming to Forza Horizon 5 with the update is loads of new music from the previous Forza Horizon games. The Horizon Mixtape radio station adds 15 new songs to the game, though you will need to unlock some of them by completing new Accolades as part of the Horizon Origins Story and winning Seasonal Championships in the Festival Playlist. Here are the new songs coming to Forza Horizon 5:

The EventLab is also receiving a big update. Playground Games is adding whopping 97 props to the Blueprint Builder, which includes props and structures from previous Forza Horizon games.
As for Accolades, 28 new ones are coming to Forza Horizon 5 as part of the update, offering new cars, Horizon Mixtape Songs, and more. You can view the full list of Accolades on Forza.net.
Each week of the Festival Playlist in Series 13 will be themed around a previous Forza Horizon game, with new cars, cosmetics, car horns, and emotes up for grabs. Playground Games is bringing back iconic cars that featured in the original Forza Horizon game as seasonal rewards for the new Festival Playlist. The 2010 Ferrari 599XX, 2011 Koenigsegg Agera, 2012 Eagle Speedster, and the 2010 Aston Martin One-77 will all be up for grabs. Additionally, you will be able to unlock each cover car from the previous games by completing each week’s Collectible challenge. Furthermore, Playground is reenabling the temporary PR Stunts from previous Series, so if you missed one, now’s your chance to grab it.
The Horizon 10-Year Anniversary update arrives in Forza Horizon 5 on October 11th. Will you be returning to FH5 for the nostalgia hit? Let us know!
